Wrote my very first Christian Rap…

I don’t know how I feel about it yet Lol, I’m more of a poet, not so much a rapper, but I’ve been hooked on Christian hip hop for a while now. Once I’ve got it recorded on my laptop, I’ll upload it (maybe, I haven’t made a definite decision yet lol) and you all can tell me what you think of it. :)

She has nothing but God.: I desire to always be…

breanna-lynn:

  • A woman who draws attention to God and not myself
  • A woman other women can look up to, but not idolize because I’m authentic and transparent about my struggles and victories
  • A woman who ushers others into being captivated with Jesus as the lover of their soul
  • A woman who…

Acting Holy

It’s time to get serious

Jesus will be back soon taking his people

Leaving you behind and delirious

Wondering why didn’t he take me?

I was a Christian and I did the right thing

But the truth is you were two faced, one side named holy, the other one named sin

Yeah you believe in God, yeah you went to church on Sunday

But keeping the Sabbath holy seemed to be the only commandment you’d obey

You forgot about the first two which say, You shouldn’t have idols or worship any other Gods

Instead you idolized material things, including yourself, wanting everyone to give you a round of applause

Or what about the third one “Do not misuse God’s name.”

But out of all your friends you were the one who used it most in vain

It’s a habit for you to use God’s name in a conversation full of profanity

To the point that you’d have to watch what you say around the congregation in order to roleplay Christianity

What about the only commandment with a promise that says you have to honor your mother and your father?

You haven’t contacted them in years because since they hurt you, you figure why bother?

Yeah they messed up, but you have to forgive them, so stop saying you can’t

It’s causing your heart to rot soo much, you may need a heart transplant

But what about the other commandments, You claim to have never coveted or cheated?

But with your lustful eyes and thoughts that enough to be charged guilty by God even if it’s innocent that you pleaded

So turn from your sinful ways because He coming back like a thief in the night

That way, when you take your last breathe, you won’t see darkness, you’ll see the light.

*I wrote this poem today & my Sister in Christ Steiny helped me with it :)

"My friends, consider yourselves fortunate when all kinds of trials come your way, for you know that when your faith succeeds in facing such trials, the result is the ability to endure. Make sure that your endurance carries you all the way without failing, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing."
— James 1:2-4 (GNT)

Take a moment to ask yourself these 2 questions…

Would you marry yourself ?

Do you like the person you are and what you have to offer, enough to marry yourself?

We are often so focused on our checklist of what we want in a spouse, that we often forget to check out our own. Remember, when you get married you give up the I for the We. So it isn’t only about making yourself happy, it’s about making someone else happy for the rest of your life.

A couple weeks ago I had a deep convo with one of my closest sister’s in Christ and she said something that blew me away. We had been talking about her relationship with the Godly Man the Lord had put in her life and she said these words, “I just want to make him happy.” This may not seem like a big deal, but to me this was. That moment was a wake up call for me! My entire life, since the first guy I can ever remember liking, it was all about Me, Myself and I. Does he make Me happy, Can I see Myself  with him, Does he have everything I want in a husband? I never stopped to think about, Do I make him happy, can he see himself with me, Do I have everything he wants in a wife? That moment made me realize that I was not ready to be a wife. At least not until I can selflessly learn to love. Not until I become the Godly Woman the Lord has called me to be, that’s when I can finally be the Godly Wife he has called me to be too someday. (:

"Just because He/She is a Godly Man/Woman, it doesn’t mean He/She is the Godly Man/Woman He has for you."
